Trade Door is a firm whose goal is to promote small business and the growth of local economies. The firm was founded in 1972 by Edward Simpson, a newly discharged naval officer with a background in economics and a driving ambition to boost local businesses. Mr. Simpson had been born right after the Great Pacific War in Washington, D.C. At the age of one he moved to San Francisco, and he lived in the San Francisco Bay area for the next twenty years. Then he joined the navy, which sent him to Japan for three years. And then after that he returned to America, but not to San Francisco but Denver. He has been here ever since, and has made a major impact in local business circles.
